Introductie ( Introduction )
Hoi,
Mijn naam is Raymond Gerritsen, zoals jullie weten ga ik een jaar naar Thailand om te werken bij 'Soi Dog Foundation' in Phuket, Thailand. Met behulp van deze blog wil ik jullie laten weten hoe mij deze lange reis af zal gaan en wil ik met jullie mijn ervaringen die ik op zal doen delen.
De laatste weken in Nederland waren spannende weken, maar ook zeker drukke weken. Veel gewerkt, alles geregeld voor de reis en nog zoveel mogelijk tijd doorgebracht met familie en vrienden!
Maandag 26 augustus is het zover, dan zal mijn vliegtuig vertrekken om 12:00 en zal ik vertrekken richting Kuala Lumpur en vanuit Kuala Lumpur vlieg ik naar Phuket International Airport. Daar zal ik opgehaald worden door mijn Nederlandse vrienden die ik in mijn vorige vakantie bij Soi Dogs heb ontmoet, Diana en Mark. Twee Nederlanders die mij zullen helpen en introduceren bij Soi Dogs en het leven in Thailand.
Zelf heb ik nog helemaal niet door dat ik zo lang weg zal blijven uit Nederland, maar des te meer ik afscheid neem van de mensen om me heen, hoe meer ik het me ga realiseren. Waarschijnlijk zal dat pas echt komen als ik eenmaal in het vliegtuig zit en alles begint.
De laastste weken waren heel erg gezellig, en ik hoop jullie veel leesplezier te geven over de reis en te laten zien dat Thailand een mooi land is om te leven.

My name is Raymond Gerritsen, and like all of you know I will be travelling to Thailand for one year to work at 'the Soi Dog Foundation' in Phuket, Thailand. With the help of this blog I would like to share all the experiences i will have during this trip.
The last weeks in the Netherlands were very exciting and busy weeks. Because i've been working a lot and sorting all the nescessary stuff I needed for the trip. Also I tried to be with my friends and family as much as possible during this last period here in the Netherlands.
Monday August 26, around 12:00 o'clock I will leave the Netherlands and head to Kuala Lumpur. At Kuala Lumpur i have to take a transfer flight to Phuket International Airport. At the airport in Phuket two people from the Netherlands, Mark en Diana I've met during my last stay in Thailand, will pick me up and introduce me at Soi Dogs and help me with living in Thailand.
Yet I do not realise that i'll be gone for such a long period of time from the Netherlands. But the more people i say goodbye to now, the more i realise i'll be leaving soon. I think I will actually realise it when i'm on the plane.
I had some fantastic last weeks, and I hope to bring you some fun and joyful reading about my trip and show you what a beautiful country Thailand is to live in.
